Sugar is a huge source of the problem, though, especially if it's high fructose corn syrup.
high fructose corn syrup
God I hate modern "recipes". Tried finding a horseradish sauce the other day. I found one without HFCS. Out of a dozen different options all lined up in a row. One.
And another thing! Of those dozen different options, they were all basically the same ingredients despite claiming to be differing products. And this is just for horseradish sauce!
Why the hell would anyone put that garbage in their own homemade food? Do these people not know honey exists?
If companies are making stuff, they usually go with HFCS, because it's cheaper than sugar because of the US government's corn subsidies.
Yes, a lot of things are made with the same ingredients, but you also have the issue of the amount of ingredients and in some cases the type of ingredient also tastes different. I tried two different kinds of cinnamon once, and the difference was very noticeable. One had a lot less flavor.
Diabetes is the inability to process glucose . It has everything to do with the amount of glucose in a person's body, not so much the type ingested.
Diabetes is a failure to produce insulin or enough insulin by the pancreas. Of course this could happen for different reasons even the kidneys being physically destroyed by a knife let's say (perhaps they wouldn't call this diabetes but the symptoms would be the same).
especially if it's high fructose corn syrup.
Exactly.
