Not dumb, uninformed, unvigilant, and afraid to cause offense.
One thing people say to me is that their concern is that thinking of controversial things will make them unhappy, and they don't have the power to change anything, either. They just want to focus on living the best life that they can, and that means avoiding anything that upsets themselves or others.
That's pretty accurate, as well as what I have heard from a lot of friends and acquaintances (unfortunately). But really, that's just throwing your personal liberties down the toilet, and flushing twice just to make sure. If the powers that be show up at the door someday (that is, if they actually manage to end up ruling the world like they want) there's going to be no avoiding upset.
I envy that kind of individual. Maybe I'm just having a rough night but that blue pill sounds like the right choice? Knowing all this shit makes me miserable
Makes me miserable, too. But not knowing the truth - living out of touch with reality - is a deeper misery by far, imo. And then, there is the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, which we are invited to ask for, and believe me, I do. Comes in handy. Also, I intend to fight in any way I can, so I'm going to have to take that bitter red pill.
There's no going back, trying will only stress you out. I tried it.
