I'm not sure what you're trying to say. Email comes from the Internet. Even if you use an internal server. Opening email, and the like, on a computer that directly or indirectly controls your pipeline is the problem.

They opened an email that encrypted all their files. No one hacked in. No one made the pipeline do anything like shut down or close a valve, etc.
