Well I'm glad that you figured out what I was trying to say, seemingly, despite that being a nonsensical word salad. But, maybe. I've always chalked it up to parents not wanting their children to hate them because they're so lonely and need approval from children. It's a shame adults want to "fit in" so often now. Social media has corroded our society in many unseen ways, I'm afraid.
