Not trying to be a contrarian but I love the Olympics and I'm looking forward to it (despite the inevitable virtue signaling nonsense).
It's a bunch of normie people who have strived and sacrificed to get in tip top shape and run and leap about as well as they can, which is kind of pointless but also strangely beautiful.
Also, being as this is Japan, and should have been 2020 - I've been looking forward to this ever since I watched the film Akira!
It's also going to be filmed in 8k so although I don't have an 8k TV at this point in time, it's going to capture some spectacular visual feats.
Just try and enjoy it for what it is, all the rampant BLM nigger malarkey is just a flash in the pan, don't let it ruin the event.
Rewatching Akira sounds more appealing than the Olympics.
I can't get into that film. I can admire it just not get into the story.
And I like many anime
Yes the ending isn't great, but like you said it's an admirable achievement. I recently read a book review where they quoted a famous writer who explained what it is to admire, but not enjoy what you are reading. If I can find it I'll post it for you.
A YouTube did a show on how amazing the animation was. Once you see why you can't unsee
