You'd be surprised at how many like minded individuals are in your community. Most people are afraid to lose their job, become homeless or ostracized among their own people. This is why it is of the utmost importance to speak your mind in public.
Think of a time in a movie theater where someone is making noise or is on their phone. Most people would be polite and not say anything. But when 1 person tells them to shut the fuck up or put their phone down, half the damn room erupts in a cheer. It's easier to go against the herd when you've got some backup.
