so, actually they just believe whatever they watch on TV. And why is that you think? I think it's because they are lazy (too lazy to do their own research), or unintelligent (to dumb to see through BS), or both.

It's not exactly intellect since they can still be very capable in areas that require 'intellect,' like mathematics. They do not have the capacity to live consciously or question things because they lack an internal monologue or at least it is very, very weak and not used much.
