It is possible they went to the Moon and faked all or some footage at the same time.
Why? Maybe as a backup plan, or they found something on the Moon they do not want to share with the masses.
It's not possible because we would have been back to the moon if that was the case. I've seen the lunar rover and module in person at the Kennedy space center and it is laughable to think that thing went to the moon and back.
