Very true.

Hey, while I’ve got you here, one of my posts got a lock with a circle and slash icon on it. What’s that signify? And is there a page that explains what all the icons mean, colors, etc?

That means the link you posted isn't secure (not HTTPS)

When you want to submit a link that starts with http:// try to add an s (https://) and if it works, submit that instead.

That's what I'm talking about.

It's a non-secure link as the url you've shared starts with www. instead of https://www.

Not sure what browser you are using, but most of them have an option that will upgrade http to https automagically.

I put your reply under AOU. I’ve got it figured out now. Thanks for trying to help.

I have never understood the point of encrypting traffic from a public website to your computer. Seems like a waste of CPU cycles. I guess if you login, like poal, ok. But if you're just reading the news, why bother?

I understand what you are saying and partially agree. But... It's all about privacy. Everyone should be able to consume data without having to use their privacy as payment. Yeah I may just be reading news from some random public site, but that doesn't mean other people should be able to know what I'm reading.
