On a reading kick lately. I have plenty of non fiction ones both that I own and on my to buy list from the German perspective. But i need some novels in between those to read to not get burnt out. You can guess how my Google search went. The usual concentration camp stories and such. Looking for ones from German side either soldiers or regular civilians or something like that. Will also accept Confederate based novels if can’t find any WWII ones.

Read about his research into the historical facts side of what he was writing about. Had to give him a read, years ago. No regrets.

The Killer Angels by Michael Shaara for the Civil War. Novels by Robert Harris for WW2. Not really from a German perspective but still good.

I saw a documentary similar to that and it was interesting. I’m sure the book is good too thanks.

Lookup Alan Furst. Yes he's jewish, but it's mostly fictional civilian stories during the Wars
