Vacuum recommendations?

My vacuum just bit the dust. It was a Miele, I got it because I remembered an AMA from a vacuum repair guy more than 10 years ago who said they were the best. It had terrible suction and the cord isn't long enough to make it all the way across some rooms (have to stop half way and plug into a closer outlet).

So, can anyone please recommend a great vacuum, good for pet hair in carpets, can also handle tile, has a long cord, preferably an upright with a canister instead of a bag, and a lot of suction.

I will be honest I absolutely love my Shark. I have had it for about six years. It did well when we had our pet. It has a powerful suction. Mine has 3 settings for hard floor, small rugs, and thick carpet. I love it.

Second this. I have one of the higher end sharks. It has withstood pet hair in carpet and running it over the tile floors, not to mention my wife's long hair. Her long hair does get wrapped around the brush after a while. It comes out easily for cleaning.

I once had a Shark, I think it was $50 new. It was all I could afford, but they might have some better models that I don't yet know about.

I bought this one new for around $300. Yes, it is a lot. I was desperate to have something good for pet hair and kids. I think it has been a great investment. It is easy to disassemble for cleaning. I don't have to buy any extras/filters. It came with different attachments. I mention this about cleaning because if you wanted to get one like this, you could probably find one used on the FB Marketplace for a lot cheaper. I like a clean home and you never know what kind of stuff the previous owner rolled over or vacuumed up.
