Never let your kid get their way from throwing a tantrum. If they learn that acting up gets them what they want, they will do it more and more. They will still have tantrums, this should subside by about age 4 (2 year olds being the worst). When they happen, encourage your child to gain control of themselves. Once they do, you can address what the problem was without reinforcing bad behaviour.

This is a good point. There's probably something important behind the tantrum, but they need to learn better ways when they get old enough.
