According to their webpage, they're an arm of lexisnexis, the satan data collection corporation, and they do "fraud protection" and other scary sounding bullshit.

I'm trying to figure out what they'd be hitting me for. The entire domain is blocked, so I can't see what's in the email they send. What are they looking for, and from whom is the request coming?

I guess hitting is the wrong word. I'll get slammed by a bunch of email from that address to a valid name on the server, then a bunch that appear to be checking for common names and catch-alls.

Ah, sounds like some malware infected machines inside the emailage.com domain are trying to propagate their payloads. The common name and catch all addresses are a typical vector for malware propagation so this is the very likely scenario.

LexisNexis is a big data collection firm, and emailage is a aqui-hire they have that checks addresses and tries to connect them with other data.

I don't think this is infected machines, this is what they do. I'm trying to figure out what triggered it, guessing no one else pays attention to that kind of crap. The fun of having your own email domain, I guess.

I quit that kind of fun 10+ years ago. Managing email servers is a terrible and mind destroying chore. It's just not worth doing any longer. I have too little sanity left for it.

I enjoy the pain.
