That's a good thing to do, and I think everyone should do this for their kids so at the age when they are non verbal they can communicate what their discomforts are and what they need. I think it helps brain development as well, leading to smarter people and better communicators in the long run. I taught my kids some simple sign language when they were young for hunger and stomach issues, greeting family and friends. It feel off when they started yapping around 1ish years old.
