I'm wondering how they actually feel about all the shit going down. If it is anything like the US many of them hate it but don't want to lose their pension and salary.

I don't know UK police men, but know ZOGbots and their mentality. These are the things I've heard during my time in the military and when dealing with police in my work in private sector:

"Nothing I can do about the world's issues, all I can do is do my job and pay my bills."

"Yes, the world is going to hell but at least my job is safe and money is good."

"If they think they can fix the world they should run for the office instead riot and burn."

"We all joined for the wage, not some patriotic ideals, those who did won't last long here." (It's true, most patriots end up leaving the police or military after few years when it becomes obvious that you will have to sell your soul to advance your career)

"The oath?!? I forgot that one the moment it passed my lips."

"SARGENT!!! STABEM IS GIVING OUR MILK RATIONS TO CATS AGAIN!!!" (True and no one could stop me.)

I was better than most in all military skills and did get ranked up for it, but I could not live among people who would laugh at you for mentioning the oath and implying anything else other that we are nothing but mercenaries.

This, I've had feds look me in the eye and admit they go door to door grabbing guns if they were told.

The only thing they care about is their comfort. If cops were to start loosing their homes to "global warming" they would find new work because at heart they are all the .gov low effort cowards at Uvalde.
