You're almost as old as I am so I assume you grew up similar to me and share many of the same experiences that I did.

Remember playing at a park or field with your friends and then you all got tired so layed down in the grass and stared at clouds? That is meditation.

After you became good at driving, to where you didn't have to think about it anymore and you just arrived at your destination and can't remember how you got there, you were meditating.

If you have ever done long distance running, once you got good enought that you didn't get cramps anymore and no longer tasted blood, and stopped feeling like you were going to die and needed to stop stop running, ig you just focused on your breathing so that it matches your foot steps (each step is half a breath in, in again, then half a breath out, and fully out) some people call it runners high, it is meditation.

If you get into a sensory deprivation tank (also called a float tank) and all of the settings are right (you can't hear or feel the air filtration happening, the water temperature is exactly matched to your body's normal temperature, you centered yourself and are nondrifting from side to side in the tank) it is much easier to meditate.

If you live somewhere that cannabis is legal to buy and consume, get some gummies (10mg of Sativa). Pop them and wait 1-2 hours for it to kick in, and you will be effortlessly meditating.

It is more of a feeling/state of mind than a process. Young children do it naturally when they day dream (back in the day before this ability was robbed from them by spending a bunch of time on tablets/phones/computers). When you get into that state, you are relaxed, loving, fun and ideas just come to you. If you get a chance to use the weed gummies, spend the entire time that you are high remembering how it feels (you are light but also heavy, just happy for no reason, amd naturally the mind is quiet so it can receive good ideas, thoughts and feelings which just make you feel even better. The next day when it has worn off, remember all of those feelings and try to feel that way without any weed.

That feeling/way of being is our natural state. We forget how to exist that way because the world shits on us with a bunch of due dates, stress and making us do things that get other people ahead in life at the cost of our own time. Turn off TV, youtube, tiktok etc. That constant scrolling amd vuewing content from others tricks you into wasting your time receiving programming from others, when you could receive information from your subconscious/higher self that can make you happy to experience the thought and it could lead to improving real things in your life. Remember when you were a kid and spent time thinking about what colors you liked? Or youbsaw someone do something you had never seen before and it inspires ou to want to try it and experience it yourself? Mediation is along those lines of thinking and feeling. Don't approach it thinking it has to go some way that you saw in a movie or something, just close your eyes and feel the sensations, and enjoy the trip back to being like a little kid where you are just happy.
