I would hope this is not your first dog. Pit mixes of any type (even small amounts) require special attention be paid to them at all times when around people. It takes experience to handle them.
I've worked with literally thousands of dogs over the years and have seen way too many families think they're OK with a pit and then regret it. Yes, I have known quite a few of them that were just fine, but those were the exceptions to the rule.
The analogy I've used in the past is this. Thomas Sowell is an intelligent man but I would not want my sister to date him.
It's not my first and one of my past dogs was seriously troubled. This one seems like a walk in the park by comparison. All he wants to do is run up to strangers and sit in their lap. Loves other dogs as well.
