I tried to do both with the post below to , but the real answer is just that Kanye made Hitler fun and lighthearted.
Too much of /our/ side, however you want to define it, relies on people being logical, citing sources, and accusing other, potentially well-meaning people, of not being racist and/or antisemitic enough.
Sure, there are some fun memes, but art has always been lacking on /our/ side, particularly in the 'music you can dance to' department. And then, if you do want to have fun, half of /our/ side is too puritanical to really enjoy shit.
I think Ye's song was actually brilliant (although, as I understand it, it was mostly written by Dave Blunts, who I consider to be the superior lyricist) because he made National Socialism a little bit more fun, a little bit more approachable.
And the biggest thing the Jews/Holocaust industry had going for them was the fact that they made Hitler/Nazis so stern, scary, and not fun, nobody would ever bother looking into what they said.
