Depends on the coffee and roast. Some beans exhibit more floral and lighter notes that are best preserved with lighter roasting and shorter/faster brew times. If the brewing and extraction are prolonged, more of the oils and bitter notes are extracted. I brew espresso and favor the darker, richer flavor. But even then different beans/roasts give differing flavors even with the same extraction process.
But yeah if I'm drinking drip coffee, I generally want it stronger.
