If there are stars so old, there are probably planets that are nearly that old. That raises the possibility that there could be species of aliens that have been evolving for billions of years. I hope that humans survive as a species long enough to explore at least our milky way galaxy, and perhaps some of the other galaxies in our local cluster. Here's a quote I ran across from Ben Rich, former director of Lockheed Skunkworks.
“We already have the means to travel among the stars but these technologies are locked up in Black Projects...and it would take an act of God to ever get them out to benefit humanity. Anything you can imagine, we already know how to do.”
- Ben Rich, Former Director Of Lockheed Skunkworks shortly before his passing.
I don't doubt that at all. Both the more ancient and higher tech alien societies and the hidden black projects. There's clearly a shadow government that has no interest in taking the money we tax payers dole out for purposes that those of us who've paid for it will never see.
