I have a celestron slt130. It doesn't work. Thinking about getting something similar, but functional. Celestron is the biggest piece of shit company I've ever dealt with, so they're out.

Has anyone here had a good experience with a different brand?

The 130mm reflector is about as small as I'd like to have, but I'd also like to spend less than about $750.

Thx.

If you have the time and patience to do so, why not build your own Dobsonian telescope?

I'm pretty happy with my low end Orion. But if you buy a cheap telescope you're going to end up spending money on eye pieces and barrlows.

We've got 3 eyepieces (9, 20, 25m), a 2x barlow, a 3x barlow, 5x zoom, 2 collimators, slr adapter ring, solar filter, stabilizer pads... everything but a working scope!
