Wanted to follow up because I just finished reading it.
Don't bother with the newest one - 5 years after - unless you're hyper invested in the characters. It's a shadow of the previous books, even the not so great sequels. Really feels like a slightly expanded outline. Could have easily been 2-3 six or eight hundred page books with a little more work.
I read that he didn't really want to write it and he only did it because of fan outcry and the publisher tossing him a pile of money. I don't blame him for that, but it clearly shows in the finished work.
Thanks for the heads up. I'll probably call it quits after the second book. Saved me from disappointment.
