Ledger was recently hacked and now two-bit scammers are sending phishing attacks and outright threats to come to bitcoin user's houses.

There's no perfect solution for security. However, generating private keys for long term storage addresses on an offline computer is a decent solution. Takes a little technical know how and practice though.
