In fact I'm absolutely positive that all of the above is going to happen with one single exception. You mentioned that states can CONFISCATE bitcoin. This is incorrect. They cannot take it by force. They can threaten and torture the holder of the keys but they cannot TAKE it. It is by its very nature unconfiscatable. There has never been an instance of this happening. Not a single time where an outside force took BTC without the knowing or unknowing consent of the key holder. If that were to happen then ALL digital cryptography would also be nullified by the same tool that broke BTC. Will illegitimate governments fight back? You betcha.
