One time, many years ago, I was selected for a jury in a capital murder case (guy was hired to kill someone and did). Tons of people were saying B.S. to get off the jury pool since the trial could take months and we'd likely be sequestered. At one point early in jury selection they asked anyone who would weigh less the testimony of a witness who was given a lighter sentence in exchange for their testimony to stand up. I was the only person to stand up despite there being at least 100 other people there. They don't tell you why you got dismissed, but I was in the first wave of only three people to get dismissed. One of the other people dismissed in that three had said she was on bail for a felony in another court.
Therefore, in they eyes of the prosecutor, not trusting some snitch who was given something in exchange for his testimony is as bad as being on trial for a felony. Go figure. The nice thing was, I didn't have to lie to get out of jury selection.
