The British empire did not come to rule one third of the Earth because they were nice. They did it by imposing harsh discipline upon their societies. The weak often perished and the strong survived, which was very much the point. They didn't just do this to the Indians, they did it to everybody, including the English themselves. Look what they did to the Irish. How about the concentration camps for the Dutch Boers in South Africa? How about all of Australia? Skin color was not the deciding factor in British imperial policy. Please Sir, more soup. You earned your keep or you died. And the church, well, they used to burn people at the stake. Human rights only exists at all because America, and then later France, put the fear of God into the elite classes. Recently, they seem to have lost their fear. North American natives in Canada practiced slavery until the British outlawed it in 1833. Indentured servitude, the practice of exchanging seven years of labor for the cost of passage to the new word, was in effect in Canada until 1939. (1948 in British Columbia.) The Chinese in Toronto still do it today. It's big triad business and the government looks the other way. The number of years of servitude has been reduced from seven to five. Probably exactly the same in the US. Meanwhile, local business has to compete with imported labor that works for free. How do you think the third world pays for their trip to America? They don't have any money. They have only their labor. The Democrats are still the party of slavery.
