Those people are horrible. At this point I think you should need a license to have a pet. Everyone (unless you are horrible and have proven to be already) starts with a license. If you do something like this, you are not told but it is revoked and you can never adopt a pet or buy one ever again. Its not a perfect idea but you get the point. They are family, not accessories.

I am sure this little man will have a wonderful forever home soon. Now I am off to donate more to the shelter we adopted our awesome little guy from.

Poor kitty. I hope he gets a home that loves his snuggles. What a horrible reason for giving up a cat. My bf rants about all the posts on NextDoor with people getting rid of cats because they are moving.

I moved 9 times with my old lady cat. I would never have thought of leaving her behind. I hate people.

If I can't move without my animals I don't move or find somewhere else to move. Even if I had to drive thousands of miles or spend a ton of $$$ on a aircraft seat just for my cat I would. They are family and not just for your enjoyment.

Exactly. I have starved in the past to afford medical treatment for a pet. I delayed a move because my guinea pig needed medical treatment and I spent the moving savings on him. I would never leave my pets behind.

Most people would say my five are waaaay too much trouble, but even though I tease Cheeki and joke about giving him away or kicking him out, I never ever would. I have two permanent kittens, one with IBD (barfs almost daily or more), a crackhead, and a super sweet sigh baby (he literally looks at you and sighs), all of them are my family and we are together no matter what. Integrating Cheeki took months and it was exhausting but we did it.
