1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. 2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins. - Heb 10:1-2 (KJV)

The law given Moses by God was only a shadow of what was to come through the atonement of Jesus. Because all the sacrifices and atonement’s of the law were only shadows, they never really did away with the sins, but only covered them. They could never accomplish forgiveness of the sins, as only the sacrifice of Jesus could do that (Hebrews 9:12). The atonement of Jesus did make us, who accept Him, perfect (Hebrews 12:23) in the sight of God, as He fulfilled the entire law for us, then gave us His righteousness as a gift. We, who are born again, now can come to God boldly (Hebrews 4:16), as we have the righteousness of Jesus – Praise God.

As this scripture says, if the sacrifices could have truly atoned for the sins, then they would have quit offering them, as once purged, you should not be sin conscious. The sacrifice of Jesus did work, and we have been made righteous and truly holy through His sacrifice, so the born again Christian should never feel any condemnation from sin (Romans 8:1). The church makes the mistake of teaching us to be sin conscious at all times, and tells us we must do certain works to be right with God, and that is not what the bible teaches. If we do sin, as a Christian, we should recognize it, and turn from it, and confess it so that our spirit can cleanse our bodies of its effect (1 John 1:9). This keeps the devil from coming in and trying to destroy our bodies, as he comes only to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10). Thank you Lord for deliverance from the devil!

The only way is through Jesus Christ. No matter how manytimes a day you pray, how often you go to church, even becoming a priest doesn’t get your sins forgiven. The only way, is through your belief in Jesus, being the Son of God who was sacrificed to wash away our sins. Thanks Joe.
