15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. - John 3:15-16 (KJV)

No one ceases to exist, as we will all live forever, either with the Lord, or in the lake of fire (Revelation 20:15), so no one shall perish in that sense. The word perish is referring to damnation to hell, and not ceasing to exist. What this is telling us is that if you believe upon Jesus, and are born again, you will not go to hell (unless you blasphemy the Holy Ghost or disobey Jesus), but will have an intimate relationship with the Father, and Jesus (John 17:3). Many people believe that eternal, or everlasting, life is referring to living forever with the Lord, but it is being able to have a close relationship with God, and Jesus, now in this life (John 3:36), as well as forever. What a privilege it is to be able to have a close relationship with the Father, and Jesus, in this life – Praise God.

God so loved the world, is why He sent Jesus to die for us, and He loved us when we were yet sinners (Romans 5:8), what a wonderful God we have. How could God love us when we are so unlovely? It is because God is love (1 John 4:8), and not because we are so lovely. If you can just get a-hold of how much God loves us, you will be overwhelmed, and His love is the AGAPE type of love that only God has. It is a love that is totally unconditional, and does not depend on how much we deserve it, or how much we respond to it. This same love of God’s, is placed in us, who are born again, as it is one of the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). The only way us humans can show this kind of love to others, is to die to ourselves, and let Christ live through us, as our human love doesn’t come close to God’s kind of love. Even though this verse is one of the best known of the entire bible, it is normally misunderstood as to its true meaning. Praise God for the Holy Spirit to help us understand His love.

There is no sin that the blood of Jesus does not cover, other than that good stuff.
