One of the things I hated about my house was how much insulation I had to put in it: -side attics had nothing -I could stick my finger between the window and the wall and touch the siding on the outside -the vent stack to the roof was a clear shot -the basement ceiling was just a panel of plywood After all of that was fixed, my heating bills were crazy low- insulation. It does a body good.
