I went to warm up my vehicle for work the other morning before sunrise and the weather app said it was -21F out and I ran to and from the vehicle just making sure the heater was set to defrost and the fan was on high and then it was around 50 20 minutes later and the steering wheel still felt like an icicle so I drove with my gloves on to work.
Hitchhiked around 20 years ago totally under-dressed in dungaree jacket and sneakers "to poor to afford winter coat and boots". It was past -20F and didn't get a ride to work since I was to cold to hitchhike after 20 minutes and went home. Found out that with the wind I was trying to get a ride in -35 windchill on a sidewalk.
