Ice on water melting has no effect on sea level. Ice on land melting into the sea is what they're concerned about. would add 20 inches of water to the world's seas.

What exactly is small? From memory it was at least 50m worth of sea level rise.

You're right, though it would take thousands of years of sustained warm weather in the Antarctic to have that happen. Still, ~50m isn't much when the continent sits 500m above sea level for the most part.
