Big oil is actually cleaning up an environmental disaster with the Alberta oil sands. Nature spilled a shit load of oil all over and it leaks into rivers and lakes.
The real environmental disaster from big oil is funding the shitskin population explosion in the Middle East and Africa. Although the vast majority of them don't get much from the resource extraction, the get ancillary revenue from businesses operating there to fill the needs of workers and bribed officials.

Do you have a coherent reference for that work of fantasy? I suspect nature was doing just fine before big oil arrived and started destroying shit.
Nature was leaking carcinogens into the water, so no it wasn't doing fine before.
The damage from tar-sand extraction is obviously far, far more. Especially considering almost everything is a carcinogen - see if you can do your research and find the one chemical that isn't?
