The company that already did my bedrooms offered me this for about £3425 (around £2850 without the optional cladding and shelves). Initially I got a super 41% discount off their base prices when they did my bedrooms, and as an existing customer this time it became 45% off!

The other 'more expensive' company wanted £5500-6000 for the same on their 'cheapest' ranges 'because we are better quality'. Even if they are its not worth that much more, but I sent this plan and pricing to them too to see if they will at least give me a more competitive price.

And they actually wanted £10,000 for the range I liked, or £12,000 for real wood!!!

I'm going ahead with paying a refundable deposit for the £3425 design - its refundable up until the survey and finalizing which wood I want and them ordering / making it all. Any variation in pricing later on gets taken off or added to the rest of the cost. And I can have the survey at any point after as I need to wait to get plans for my carpets and moving a lightswitch but might not be able to during the lockdown. And I might not be able to get the survey until after the lockdown so paying the deposit now means I get moved up the queue.

I need to sort out getting my carpets redone and the outdoor light switch moved, as the cheap carpets that came for free with my house arent worth the cost to keep if I need them lifting to install the cabinets, so just for the lounge I would like to get the best carpets and underlay (woven wilton and memory foam 12mm underlay).
