People forget that FL required paperwork just to travel there for a little while. If you did not have a valid work related reason, the state police would stop you at the border. I have a friend who does maintenance work on docks and stuff. Not only did they stop him, but they called his work and verified their taxpayer id before letting him pass. This was for someone who was in a work truck going to work on a contract for the state of FL.

As time wore on, DeSantis realized that a state like FL which is dependent up tourism would crash and burn economically if something wasn't done. That was his real motivation. Whether he actually looked at the science or made a cynical bet to save his political career, we'll never know.

Australia did this in every state. And when their vax goals weren't met they'd lock down suburbs by post code and tell you not to travel outside of a 3 Mile radius or be given a 5k fine to punish them err uhh umm for health reasons.

FL which is dependent up tourism

Correct. Australia tried to do the same thing but with a population of less than 30 million their economy is now destroyed and Melbourne the 2nd most populated state is now becoming a ghost town. They also voted back in the dictator that imposed all the tyranny on them for 3 years.

I can't speak for Australia, but FL travel between states was probably the most restrictive. Most states didn't even limit travel. My friend's employer is based several states away and the only state he needed permission to enter was FL and not all the intermediate states. Now, DeSantis is supposed to be king of covid pushback.

From what I've seen of Australia, it along with NZ are nightmare fuel. If we ever dig ourselves out of tyranny in the US, I would back a regime change in our real greatest ally, Australia.

If they were serious about kicking bagelfucks out of Australia I'd help em.

But the Numale generation there would rather talk about star wars.
