Agreed. Socialism has been around since civilizations have existed. The reason socialism fails now days is because there is too much government involved which tends to make the whole system lean towards communism. Real socialism, that existed naturally for hundreds of years, has very little government if at all.
When I say socialism, I say it from a western european background
I'm not referring to communism or sovietism or any solidly defined theoretical/political system; I'm referring to that loosely defined bourgeois thing full of cause du jour that started around the 80s, which gave birth to today's mainstream left
