In 2015, I lost the date and time information of files because the file manager did not preserve the original time attributes when transferring from a mobile phone (crappy MTP) to a hard drive.

This could have been prevented had I created a file list with date and time information, e.g. using Android Terminal. But actually, I did not know about it back then.

It appears that transfering files from mobile to desktop often comes with such problems. I had to recover some files in such a case and learned how unreliable this operation can be (obviously not the hard way as I recovered my files).
