The other day, I discovered ChatGpt can read SPICE files and check your netlists. Now I learned that it can read Gerber files and check your board layouts as well as verifying it against your netlists.
I understand people are worried about ChatGpt stealing your ideas. Fine, don't upload anything proprietary. For me, I don't create anything particularly proprietary or unique. My circuits are mostly boring already well established designs, but I want my own custom boards simply because I can make them cheaply. ChatGpt represents an easy way to verify my designs before producing boards.
Perhaps my board designs are unique for my application, but my circuits are pretty boiler plate designs. I want something to check my netlists and PCB layout. For this, ChatGpt does a fair job. I’ve learned a lot about the process.
