You see, this guy is just like the rest of them, always has been, but unlike them, he's good at wearing masks (until they slip that is), larps as /our/ guy and sometimes even talks to the deplorables (us), saying things we want to hear. Therefore he's based and good. What a farce, though, right? We're so desperate for a leader, or at least a friend, that we forgive and accept him even after that same friend has backstabbed us in cold blood in front of everyone time and time again. The cycle of an abusive relationship is a scary thing, and it's rarely broken without outside intervention, and alas, we will fall for false idols again and again for lack of options and hope.
