I get what you're saying about fossils. Things do get faked. Some things that don't fit the narrative can get "lost". Lot's of fuckery when it comes to this subject. However, that is not the only evidence we have. There are examples of cave paintings, paintings from antiquity and some mythology showing and discussing humans tracking, hunting, fighting and killing giant lizard like creatures. Are we to dismiss those as just fairy-tales?

You don't need to believe in evolution to acknowledge the existence of large reptile creatures, especially when their remains are found in the ground and we have written eye witness accounts describing their existence.
