TL;DR: Lbry differs from sites like Bitchute by using a blockchain to share content using torrents in a decentralized fashion.

TL;DR: Lbry differs from normal torrents by having a blockchain with a protocol for names/domains/urls and for easily sharing torrents.
Lbry DOES use torrents and no centralized server.
Content is NOT stored directly on the blockchain which would cost a lot as blockchains must be duplicated across all full blockchain nodes.
https://lbry.com/faq/naming
Lbry decides on domain/name resolving by having people stake their lbry coins on their domain thus preventing easy abuse and domain hoarding.
Unlike with namecoin, lbry coins staked on a domain are NOT destroyed, nor is the staked amount fixed at an arbitrary amount. This makes the system more flexible and naturally self-balancing, yet secure.
https://lbry.com/faq/is-lbry-open-source
Lbry is open source.

TL;DR: Lbry credits or Lbry coins have a cap of apprx. 1 billion.
Half to 70% has been mined/distributed to the founders already.
Price is currently low (nr. ~381 market rank) and I think it may rise significantly as lbry seems exceedingly well-designed and LBC has a fixed cap. Lbry.tv/odysee went online only months ago to my knowledge.
Risks: Large amounts of LBC (~40%) were issued at foundation to the founders and collaborators. This is not a bad thing, but price manipulation from whales or price dumping is possible until this initial issuance has dissipated more widely. Project start was 4 years ago.
EDIT:
It seems that Odysee DOES censor. I imagine this is done on the front end and if one had a "based" client videos such as should still be viewable.
More research needed. The Odysee client may be a no go.
