**Answer:** No. For those of you who thought DDG respected your privacy, well you're in for a surprise: DuckDuckGo has trackers. If you use [uBlock Origin](https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock), then you don't have to worry about being tracked since it has the EasyList and EasyPrivacy filter lists enabled by default. For people who already knew about the [shady past of DuckDuckGo](https://archive.is/qntuk), the [shady history](https://archive.is/9wR4O) of its [founder](https://archive.is/N2qe8), the [fairly recent discovery](https://www.stoutner.com/new-default-homepage-and-search-engine/) by the owner of Privacy Browser, and [DDG deciding to use Apple Maps for mapping](https://www.ghacks.net/2019/01/16/duckduckgo-search-switches-mapping-to-apple-maps/), this is not at all surprising.
