Silver is an attractive component in electronics, sure. But if silver ever got to $1k/oz, the tech will just find another material. Silver is a good conductor, but not much better than copper or aluminum. Processes will have to change, but that probably wouldn't be too hard. The push to find superconductors is still ongoing, as is all the graphene and carbon based conductors.
