i remember the time when mov was the cool format in the 90s. it has completely lost to MP4 today I guess

anybody remember the video formats in the early 90s? I have recently found some archive files on archive.org which were in .gl format, which was a video player in the late 80s. Also FLIC was another one. MOV and AVI were popular, MPEG1 was.When I was at university I spend a lot of time figuring out which file was witch to be able to play them
