I remember learning that when I was like 7 years old. Our teacher said "The principal is your PAL, he's there to help you- that's how you can remember the spelling!" Pretty clever, right? I never misspelled the word again, and I've never used the incorrect "principal" where "principles" should be. All because I had a clever teacher.
