While I haven't watched the video, there is some truth to the germ vs soil argument. It goes something like this: if you were to try and infect two different people with a germ-borne disease, one person might get the disease but not the other. If germs cause disease, why the difference? The idea is that it's not germs that cause the disease but a complex interaction between the germs and the body (soil).

One way to not get infected by germ-borne disease is to not be exposed to the germs. This is the approach all governments are taking: masks, social distancing, etc.

Given that germs are very small and exist almost everywhere, this approach has limited utility.

Another approach is to change the 'soil'. Make your body more resistant to invading germs. Eat healthy, exercise, and get plenty of sleep. Vaccines fit into this category as well (if we had ones that were effective against covid).

Anyway, I hope I didn't bore you too much as I didn't really say anything new or interesting.

Germ theory =/= hygiene hypothesis. You subscribe to the latter, which has basis in reality and can be observed easily. Germ theory hoax proponents are on par with flat earthers.
