If you don't have fair and honest elections in democracies (and republics), you have nothing. Your entire system of government is a sham. Why would politicians who elect themselves through election fraud work in your best interests? They wouldn't. Isn't that obvious? If the people lose control over the voting process (and they have in America) they have lost everything.
