If the Republicans gave a shit about abortion they would have banned it decades ago. But they won’t, it’s a good fundraising issue and handy to use as a distraction. Republicans themselves took a huge shit on the constitution with the Patriot Act and have been merrily chipping away at it ever since.
The Republicans and Conservative Inc do nothing for us except distract and mollify. They exist to lose. They exist to tell us our losses are somehow actual moral victories. They exist to eternally tell us “Next time we will win”.
