It's difficult to ascertain where the truth lies. After all, I'm not out there seeing things for myself, I'm in here in a "box" and all I see are photons coming from my screen. But I do have a good heuristic that has yet to fail me. I listen to both sides and ask questions. One side is usually rational and is willing to engage. The other side is hysterical, emotional, calls me names and is unwilling to engage in dialog. Doesn't take much to figure out who is lying and who is telling the truth.
