IKr, i find it hard to accept these guys dont understand or connect the dots that what they did led to thousands of innocents dying. How did all these cops escape the fires ??. Guarantee when they were told to withdraw there was a clear route out of the town - and they were given explicit directions over the radio - that they never passed on to the people. Knowing the mentality, any cop that feels slight shame guilt or embarrassment will likely now just double down and more quickly take his frustrations out on the poor citizenry for any minor infraction instead of having beef with the superiors..
